American Indian Studies and Anthropology Minors
Matt is a pre-dental student at SDSU, husband, and father. He attended the 2014 Catch the Wave Conference and was inspired to join CPO and continue the tradition to help educate and inspire future health professionals. Matt is in his second year serving in CPO and also serves as the VP of Finance on the College of Sciences Student Council and is the Community Outreach Director for the Preventative Dentistry class at SDSU. Matt will be applying to dental school in 2016 for Fall 2017 admission. He loves to help his peers and educate the children of the underserved community in oral care.

As a current pre-dental undergraduate student studying biology here at SDSU, Stephanie has immersed herself in the academic life that SDSU offers. She is President for The pre-dental organization on campus, served one term on the College of Sciences Student Council, and is currently participating in the Council of Pre-Health Organizations for her third year. Stephanie will be applying to dental school in 2016 for admission in 2017. Until then, she is staying focused on her studies and taking every opportunity she can get to volunteer and help her community in any way possible. In her free time she likes to watch movies, hike, and go to the beach to enjoy the beautiful city we live in

Amber graduated from San Diego State University last fall with honors and distinction in her major. Beyond her love of academics, Amber has been involved with many pre-health organizations on and off campus, which have allowed her to mentor her peers and serve the community. Amber is currently applying to masters programs to expand on her interest in global health before applying to medical school in the near future. In her free time she enjoys volunteering with Ronald McDonald Charities, traveling, and hiking.

Mahrou is majoring in biology to achieve her dream of becoming a dentist! Her passion for helping others led her to join Council of Pre-health Organizations and take on a leadership role. Aside from academics, she is involved in several organizations on campus that present her with opportunities to volunteer in the San Diego community. In the future, she wishes to travel and give back to communities in need by providing dental care and educating about oral health.

Katelyn aspires to be a physician assistant specializing in cardiology, emergency medicine or family medicine. There are incredible and challenging aspects to the medical field that excite her about being part of a team that makes a difference in people’s lives. Originally from New York state, one of her favorite pastimes is to ride horses.

Vicky is a pre-dental student at SDSU and is looking forward to dental school in the near future. In her free time she enjoys playing the saxophone, hiking, traveling and spending time with family and friends. An interesting fact about her is that she is from the Dominican Republic. She came to the United States when she was 5 years old and since then, she has lived in Virginia, Florida, and currently California.

. Chrislyn hopes to become a physician assistant in a children’s hospital. She plans to someday specialize in Pediatric Critical Care. The most exciting and impacting part of pursuing a career in the medical field is the opportunity to help your community. An interesting fact about her is that she has dual citizenship for the United States and the Philippines.

Michelle is a pre-dental undergraduate student in her senior at SDSU. In addition to serving on the Council of Pre-health, Michelle is a Peer Mentor for the Health Professions Advising Office, a member of the Pre-dental Club, and the President of Chabad. Outside of her SDSU involvement, she is starting to volunteer for the Therapeutic Recreation Services center to get involved with the surrounding community, and she also tutors. In her free time, Michelle loves to be outdoors by going hiking, camping, and being adventurous.

Alexa is a pre-dental undergraduate student pursuing a degree in biology at SDSU. With a thirst for knowledge and love for academics, she has taken advantage of SDSU's organizations and leadership opportunities. She is currently serving her second year on the Council of Pre-Health Organizations and is the Vice President External of the pre-dental society. She is also a peer mentor for SDSU's Health Professions Advising Office and takes delight in guiding other students that aspire to be health professionals. In addition, Alexa is a part of Greek life, she served as Director of Scholarship and Assistant to the Director of Finance for her sorority. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, spending time with family, going to baseball games, and baking. She will be graduating next spring and shortly after apply for Fall 2018 Dental school Admission.

Eboney is a current pre dental student at SDSU double majoring in Biology and Spanish. Outside of academics and work she spends her time doing volunteer work in her community and enjoying time with friends and famliy. Eboney is currently applying to a few Post-Bacc and Masters programs as she is graduating this year and isnt quite ready to apply to dental school. She hopes to apply to dental school in 2017 for admission in 2018!

Matthew is a pre-pharmacy student at SDSU pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He will be applying to pharmacy school in 2016 for admission in 2017. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer, watching sports, playing the guitar, and watching movies.

Amanda is a pre-veterinary student who loves being involved on campus. In addition to being on CPO, is an officer in the Pre-Veterinary Medical Association and the American Sign Language Club. Is currently in her third semester of being on the College of Sciences Student Council. She also is a peer mentor for the Health Professions Advising Office to help be a guide to younger pre-vet students. She hope to use all her experience in the future to achieve her dream of attending veterinary school. In her free time she likes to draw, read, and practice sign language.
Microbiology with a minor in Neuroscience
After growing up in North Los Angeles, Colin decided to continue his education in Sunny San Diego. As a pre-PA student, he finds himself spending much of his time studying but he never fails to make it up to Big Bear, CA for some much needed snowboarding every season. As a certified EMT, Colin has made a few trips down to Tijuana, Mexico to volunteer at a free health clinic through a club on campus. Since then, he has started his own organization named Students Inspiring Tomorrow's Scientists that shares his passion for science with local elementary schools. He is honored to be a part of the council and is looking forward to a fun and informative conference.
